Karen Bernod and Russell Taylor at joe's pub
This Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter has been busy writing and
producing the follow-up to her critically acclaimed, independently
released, debut Some Othaness For U
Now Bernod's latest album Life @ 360 Degrees
has been released in the UK and Europe to the joy of fans and critics
alike. Simply Soul UK proclaimed Life "a damn fine album!" Echoes
magazine exclaims that Bernod "...possesses a versatile and superbly
expressive voice, whose elasticity, athleticism and jazz-tinged phrases
catches the ears."
And the Chicago Tribune hails Bernod's voice as "polished yet
fiery...it reels you in gently and then leaves you wanting more and
more as the intensity builds." This Joe's Pub solo debut celebrates the
long-awaited U.S. release of Life @ 360 Degrees. www.karenbernod.com

His stateside musical journey has lead him to share stages with Lalah
Hathaway, Tweet, Donnie, N’Dambi, Mary J Blige, and other great artists
that have impacted international markets. Painted with blues, rock
& roll, hip-hop, and spiritual soul, Russell Taylor's artistry is embodied in sound and shared with the greater goal of bridging gaps. Russell's debut album Somewhere In Between
is a live band voyage through the human condition. With two parts real
vibrant soul, one part down home blues and one part artistic
vulnerability, listeners emerge tipsy on life...and better for it.
Somewhere In Between is art mirroring life. "If it sounds good, you'll
hear it; If it looks good, you'll see it; If it's marketed right,
you'll buy it; but if it's real, you'll feel it." --Kid Rock

| Lisa Shaw at joe's pub |

Many thanks to all who came out on this special night at Joe's Pub,
Lisa Shaw made a rare appearance with her full live band. She performed
songs from her "brilliant and wickedly diverse" (DJ Times) debut CD
Cherry, released by Naked Music and produced by Jay "Blue Six" Denes
& Eric Stamile. Her sound combined elements of house, R&B, funk
and electronica, but might best be described as a reinvention of sweet,
simple soul. Lisa is well known in the deep house world, having
performed globally with such artists as Miguel Migs, Andy Caldwell,
Fred Everything, Jask and JT Donaldson. Look out for the second single
from Cherry - "Born To Fly" - to be released this summer.
This event was presented by Sista Factory in association with Upper

stunning vocals, superbly crafted songs and an amazing group of NY's
finest funkateers, Marthašs shows always bring down the house, and in
the short time shešs been performing "the kind of woman who sets
trends" (Billboard) has built a deeply passionate fanbase.
The Brooklyn-based singer/activist's only hometown band show of the

performances in Paris, France and Stockholm, Sweden as well as a series
of benefit concerts for the Houma Indians of the Louisiana Bayous who
are still recovering, with no government assistance, from the
